Teen Services

Menlo Park Community Services Department has programs geared for teens. All programs are set up so teens will be with others of the same age and same grade. We offer a series of programs focusing on everything from sports and adventure, to education and career development.

Internship Matching Opportunities

Sky's The Limit (Grades 6th - 8th)

Meets Monday through Friday from 4-7pm during the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons, and 12-4pm during the Summer season.
Location: Onetta Harris Community Center


Sky's The Limit 2011

The mission of the Sky's The Limit Program is to develop and shape youth into young adults, by giving them the experience to work in teams and learn how to be leaders. Youth will have the chance to engage in a variety of activities, discussions, and sports. By developing these skills youth will learn how to work hard in order to obtain what they desire in their adult lives. Mouse Squad (Grades 6th - 8th)

Meets on Wednesdays from 3-4pm.
Location: Onetta Harris Community Center


The Mouse Squad is for youth interested in learning how to provide service to their school and community while learning video production, IT (Information Technology), developing social networking skills and customer service. Not only will participants have the opportunity to learn new skills that will help them in the future, they also develop a sense of confidence and leadership skills. The program is held in the Onetta Harris Community Center Computer Lab. This is a free drop-in program. To get involved call 650-330-2250.

College Corner (Grades 6th - 12th)

Meets on Tuesdays from 5-7pm during Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Location: Onetta Harris Community Center

Come take part in this great opportunity to learn everything you need to know about preparing for college. You will receive personal coaching, career advice, and educational planning to help meet your goals. Edmund Harris, former employee of USC and UCLA, passes on his knowledge and insight on how to navigate through the educational system and provides tips for being successful in life beyond school. This program is available on a drop-in or weekly basis at no cost. Call 650-330-2250 to get involved.

Beginning Wrestling (Grades 4th - 8th)

Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-6:30pm during Fall, Winter and Spring
Location: Onetta Harris Community Center


If you are looking for an opportunity to learn a new sport or stay in shape for other sports, you should try this program. This beginning wrestling class focuses on fundamentals of Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman wrestling. The training consists of a warm up, strength/fitness routine, team work drills and repetition, live wrestling for application of techniques, and a cool down and stretching routine. The program is based on wrestling for discipline, sports, fitness, and for those who are interested, in competition. If you are interested in competing against other schools, please ask the instructors during class. This class is completely free.

Currently our hours are Monday through Friday from 12-8pm. The center is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and City Holidays, except for rentals, classes or special events.
